Community Anti-Racist Education Fund

SUPPORTING ACCESSIBLE AND SUSTAINABLE MEANS OF GAINING CRITICAL ANTI-RACIST EDUCATION

Over the years it’s become clear that not everyone can afford education that literally saves lives. Together with your support, we’ve been able to launch a National Anti-Racist Education Fund, raising a total of $11,150 from approximately 60 individual donors. The sole purpose of this fund is to include and uplift community members who may be struggling financially, who want to gain access to critical anti-racist knowledge, yet may be prohibited due to barriers such as debt, poverty, fixed income, working-class status, and beyond. Our community fund provides stipends to anyone who would like to attend a foundational workshop offering a deeper dive into historical race and class analysis. Anti-racist education should be accessible to all.

We are excited to make workshop funds available for a first round of applicants. Because this is a new initiative the application will close after the first 10 applicants to assess the process for clarity, timeliness, and workability. If you choose to participate, we ask that you give us grace as this is a volunteer effort and we are committed to creating a strong and sustainable system to support more people as more resources become available.

By taking the time to collectively learn, deconstruct, and rebuild critical historical infrastructures in our minds, hearts, and communities, together we can break free from the bondage of our deepest socializations. We can become effective community organizers, and we can experience the beauty of shared lives built on authenticity, trust, connection, and integrity. From there, we can construct new systems, rebalance racial and economic disparities, and redesign our future. This is what anti-racism education has to offer. These 2-3 day multiracial workshops build a historical race and class analysis, and can be a powerful and effective organizing tool for personal, interpersonal, institutional, and cultural transformation in the realms of undoing systemic racism and White supremacy culture in its multiple forms

Economic hardship shouldn’t be a barrier to accessing life-saving education and the truth of who we are as a racialized nation under capitalist oppression.

Anti-Racist education builds foundational muscle for historical clarity on White supremacy, undoes the myth of individualism, supports movement organizing, and strengthens multiracial/class solidarity, a key component for creating a world and worldview that centers the humanity of Black and Indigenous people, communities, and lives.

  • For those interested in applying, all that we ask is that you fill out a short application, commit to attend the entire workshop (stay the whole time), and participate as a member of the learning community. If you aren’t able to make these commitments, we ask that you consider utilizing our funding at another time when you are able to fully participate. We want to make sure that you are set up for success and that our funds are supporting those able to make this commitment in full. Lastly, we ask that all applicants consider contributing a portion of the registration cost. We will pay the balance of the registration once you have completed the workshop.
